Brad Keselowski’s bid for his first career All-Star race victory, and the $1 million prize associated with it, hit a snag on Saturday night at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

The All-Star free-for-all saw Brad race as high as the top of the board and fall all the way back, emblematic of the chaotic nature of the exhibition event.

After starting 14th, Brad was up to the top spot after choosing to forego a pit stop late in Stage 1. However, upon the restart, he didn’t get the push he needed and finished the stage in P16. He moved up to 7th at the end of Stage 2 and ran Top 5 for all of Stage 3, setting him up to compete for the million-dollar prize as the 15-lap final stage began. But a series of on-track incidents led to a trio of late-race restarts and BK dropped back each time, ultimately finishing 11th despite finally dialing the Deuce in on their final pit stop.

“I was crushing the splitter there towards the end of the race and couldn’t hit a lick on that restart when we fell back. We pitted and put those packers in the front shocks and the Discount Tire Ford really took off. It was a night and day difference. Unfortunately, we didn’t have the finish we wanted to tonight.”
