After waiting a day to get started, Brad Keselowski only got 82 laps in a competitive Miller Lite Ford Mustang before his day came to an abrupt end.

A rain-soaked weekend in Daytona canceled qualifying and pushed the start of the Coke Zero Sugar 400 back from Saturday night to Sunday. With the starting order set by the rulebook, BK began the day in P3 and held steady in the top 10 for the majority of the first stage as competitors jockeyed for position in the ever hectic summer visit to the Florida superspeedway.

But the day came to a close for the 2 Crew just a few laps into stage two, when a bump from the 4 car of Kevin Harvick caused BK to lose control of the Deuce. The car slammed the wall and caused damage that left the Stars and Stripes Deuce unsalvagable despite the efforts of the team to get back on track. The wreck resulted in a P39 finish at Daytona.

“I know I was going straight one moment and the next moment I wasn’t. It’s unfortunate for the Miller Lite team.  We were all two and three-wide racing and I just got tagged from the back. I know we got to three-wide at the top of three and it looks like Kevin gave me a real straight push. It just took off on me. The Fords were working really hard to run together and I thought we were doing really well at it, but for whatever reason the car just instantly turned there. It’s a bummer for everybody, but we’ll move on.”
