The Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series returned to action after a week off for Easter, at one of the biggest tracks in the sport, at Sunday’s race once again proved to Brad Keselowski and 39 other drivers that anything can happen at Talladega.

BK wasted little time reclaiming the top spot in the field, racing to the lead at the conclusion of Lap 1 and holding it for the first seven laps of the afternoon. But although Brad held the lead twice for a total of 10 laps, strategy plays left him without any stage points to show for a strong day. Furthermore, he couldn’t get the run he needed late in the race to push to the front, settling for a 13th place finish.

The day featured highs and lows, and even saw BK slide backwards into his pit stall after the car locked up on the entrance to pit road. But all told, Brad was proud of the work of his team to keep him in contention from start to finish.

“Erik Jones and I had an awesome run going on the top with three laps to go but it didn’t work out. Major props to the 2 crew for adapting and overcoming when I slid into our pit stall.”
