For the first time this season, Brad Keselowski started on the pole for Sunday’s Foxwoods Resort and Casino 301 and though he couldn’t parlay that start into a win, he did nab his first Top 10 in the month of July.

After earning his first pole since 2017, breaking a 68-race drought, Brad led 12 laps at New Hampshire Motor Speedway and came home in 10th, scoring 33 points as the season marches toward the beginning of the playoffs in Mid-September.

The P10 finish gives BK an even 10 top-10 finishes this season, including his three victories. The 2 car has been particularly great in qualifying of late, speeding to a top-three starting spot each of the last two weeks and the 2 Crew is trending in the right direction after a pair of uncharacteristic finishes at Daytona (39th) and Kentucky (20th).

Brad had a good chance to post an even better result this week, but the 2 car struggled with rear grip issues at the beginning of the race. He managed to hold onto a Top 5 spot to complete Stage 1 but fell to P12 at the end of Stage 2. He was back in the Top 5 with less than 30 laps to go, but fell back a few positions after hectic restart on lap 273 and dropped into 10th after a close call with Kyle Busch.

On the bright side, in each of his previous three victories this season BK posted a top-12 finish the week prior to winning. He hopes to keep that trend alive with a win this week.

“Not the result we wanted today with our Alliance Truck Parts Ford. We’ll regroup and bounce back strong next weekend at Pocono.”
